Valjeans is a volunteer-run program designed to aid people who are former inmates. Our main focus is on housing and mentoring people who are returning to society and want to be a positive factor in the world.
Mentoring
Our mentors offer one on one mentoring for the unique needs and challenges that each of our clients face. We believe in being adaptive and open to the specifics of each case.
Housing
Because getting out of prison or jail is hard, and resources are scarce, Valjeans provides fully furnished houses and rooms for those in our program. This means they only need to provide food, clothing, and income to their situation.
Service projects
Valjeans restores faith by encouraging volunteering from our clients. People released from prison have an intrinsic need to give back to the community they have burdened, and volunteering gives them the esteem to know they are agents for positivity and change.
Career Assistance
Work and a livable income are vital steps on the path to successful reintegration. It is necessary for hope and practicality. One must earn their way in life whenever possible so Valjeans offers career mentoring, resume writing assistance, and job placement at various of our partner locations.
